Kyla's Little Accident

This was her first real accident, and I was always afraid that she would do this. I was baking some cookies for our ward non-talent show and I was having her help ealier in the day. I had to wait for Dustin to get home from work cuz I didn't have chocolate chips. Anyways well it got time to almost leave and I still had a couple batches to cook, do Kyla's hair, get the diaper bag ready, and put cookies into a container. I was kind of rushing around and took one of the batches out of the oven and put it on the counter, I put it a little too close to the edge. (So it's kind of my fault, I told her hot don't touch and she knows but they still forget) Well I turned around and saw her reach up and grab it. She pulled away quickly and of course screamed. I grabbed her and sat her on the counter and ran it under cold water. It must of helped her feel so much better cuz she wouldn't take it out of the water. Which I was glad about. Anyways on her 3 middle fingers it was starting to blister a bit. I put some aloe vera on it and gave her a cold cloth to hang on to cuz we had to leave. Dustin was performing in the talent show so we had to go. Him and some friends did Def Leppard air band, it was quite hilarious and i'll get some pics on here as soon as I can. Kyla wasn't having a fun time at the talent show, she was in pain the whole time. I got a cup of cold water and she stuck her hand in it and wouldn't take it out the whole time. But as soon as it wasn't cold anymore she would grit her teeth and kind of shake cuz it was stinging and want to rub it which I was worried about cuz I didn't want her to pop the blisters. I know exactly how she feels, i'm sure everyone does cuz we've all burned ourselves. I got a glance at her hand and it was blistering really bad, so we decided to take her to Urgent Care. They said she had 2nd dregree burns and that they needed to bandage it up and keep it that way for a few days. We've only had to change it once but thats cuz it kind of came apart. Anyways, not a super big tradegy but it was sure sad seeing her try to be tough when she was in pain. She is functioning quite well with her new stub. It's sad to see her all bandaged up. The blisters still haven't popped yet, maybe today sometime. We now just have to watch for infection and keep the bandage on for a couple more days. Well that was our eventful Saturday night!

I hate moving

Well when you grew up in 10 different schools and have moved 7 times since graduating, you would hate it too! Just when I thought we would be settled here and we wouldn't have to move far again. Dustin gets the most amazing job offer, and at the perfect time too. We were really struggling on what to do when these babies come. We live in our 2 bdrm condo and can't afford to upsize, so we were praying for an answer. The next week this job came up! So we knew it was our answer to our prayers. Dustin is so excited and we know it's an awesome oppurtunity for us. Not everyone gets a chance like this. Besides we are young still and we don't have kids in school. We are only planning on going for a couple years then we are definately coming back here to settle! I love Okotoks and really want to reaise my family here so I know we will be back. We are putting our house up for sale in 2 weeks, pretty much the day we move... March 21st! I'm not even close to being ready to move. We haven't packed one box yet! This weekend we will do most of it. I just have a hard time myself, you know since i'm pregnant!! haha I do tend to push myself to hard somedays and then pay for it after. I need to stop doing that cuz it's definately not good for me. I'm just not used to being limited. Dustin is the best husband and helps me all the time. He'll rub my back, cook supper, puts Kyla to bed, gets up in the night when she wakes up and will let me sleep. He's very patient and i'm so grateful for everything he does. Now he just has to pack and move us!! I'm not asking too much eh? haha poor guy, and now he has 4 girls to deal with!! I love him!

20 weeks!

So this is a big mile stone, 5 months! I can't believe how fast it has gone by so far. I know the next 3ish months will go by even faster with us moving and all. I will officially tell you we are moving on March 21st to Fort Mcmurray. Dustin got a job offer up there so we are gonna go make so good money (and save it) ;) then come back here to Okotoks. I know this is where I want to end up raising my family. The sooner we come back the better but i'm thinking a couple years forsure. I think it we stay here we will be stuck in a 2 bdrm condo for a long time with 3 kids! Not very fun. I think this is a great opportunity for Dustin and he is really excited about it. His boss is a great guy, who we can trust so we know it's safe. We even have a place to live when we go there. Everything just kind of worked out for us, kind of an answer to our prayers. Dustin's sister lives up there so I know I won't be alone, thank goodness. I don't think i'd go if I didnt know anyone up there. Well back to the pregnancy, i've been feeling a lot better for sickness, I only get sick when I miss taking a pill. I'm down to taking one at night and thats it. So i'm glad for that, as soon as I miss taking it though i'm over the toilet all day! So they pretty much save my life! This weekend I started to feel a lot of Braxton Hicks contractions. It's weird cuz I never had them with Kyla and now when i'm doing anything physical, walking or standing for too long they start. It's not very comfortable either! The past 2 days i've been resting a bit more and haven't had them very much. So I keep having these weird dreams that we are having one girl and one boy, last night it was so real too. I delivered one of each and we didn't know until I delivered them! I am second guessing the ultrasound now and I'll be comfortable on our next one when they see what they are again, just to be sure. I was so positive it was a boy and girl before too. So who knows! I hope I find out soon if they messed up so I can buy boy stuff cuz I have nothing! It's sure weird though! I'm having 2 baby showers before we move and i'm so excited for them! One is this weekend in Cardston and one is on March 15th in Okotoks. I really hope a lot of people come cuz it's kind of a goodbye thing for me too, since moving came so fast. I want to see as many people before we move and these showers would be a great time to do that. So all of you should come! Oh and I am going to put up the ultrasound pictures, I just need to get to a scanner.

Swimming

Ever since Kyla was 3 months old she has loved to swim! This Friday we weren't too sure what to do so I suggested swimming, we have never been to the pool here and figured why not. It was cheap night anyways! So here are some pics of our family swim night!

The Results!

I'm sorry it took me until today to post this but we wanted to make sure all our family knew before I told anyone else. Well the ultrasound was amazing!! I have never had a more fun ultrasound experience. The lady who did it was so much fun. But ...I'll get to the point, since I made you wait so long, we're having twin Girls!! Yup 2 more little girls in our family! Poor Dustin is out-numbered BIG TIME! He is very excited though to have his tough girls and he'll treat them just as if they were boys, they will have quads and dirtbikes (and they'll be pink and black)and play sports! It's so cute all his plans he has for them. Well back to the ultrasound, it was so awesome. She let Dustin come in the entire time and showed us everything so much! She kept getting distracted cuz she was showing us so much. She didn't realize it but she looked after and she took 92 pictures for the actual Doctor! Also normally they are supposed to let you take home 2 pictures of each baby, she gave us like 7 of each! She kept having to take one more so the other baby wouldn't get jealous that they had more pictures than the other, it was funny. She even checked over and over to be sure they were girls. So much fun and she was so awesome. If you ever want a good ultrasound experience go to the High River Hospital. She is the only full-time lady and she calls the shots, so the husbands come in and she gives you more pictures. Well I think I am more shocked than Dustin cuz I seriously though it was a boy and girl. I of course am so happy, but it sure is a lot to take in, in a day! I can't believe how much our lives can change in a month... We are having twins, now 2 more girls! and moving to Fort Mcmurray in March! I am excited about all these changes, I just can't believe what can happen in your life in a month! Well us and our 3 daughters! It's crazy to think we actually know what is coming. I never found out with Kyla so this is a whole new experience for us! I better stop writing and post this before a couple of you kill me for making you wait so long! I'll post the ultrasound pictures once I get to a scanner to put them on the computer. But if any of you have ideas for some cute girl names we need one more now!

4 1/2 months (18 weeks)

I know I promised a new picture so I took this picture today and I love it, and I don't even look fat in it! Kyla loves to feel my tummy and kiss the babies. She always says "two babies!" and I think she gets it, but who knows. She will get it in a few months!

We find out what we're having on Tuesday, so watch for a post!

17 weeks!

As of yesterday I am 17 weeks pregnant! It's crazy to think of how time goes. I feel like we were just talking about trying for another baby, now we are having two and i've got a belly that came out of nowhere! Dustin said last night how funny it was seeing someone normally really small, all of the sudden with a tummy like mine. I think it's crazy too how fast things go when you are having twins. You grow faster, you feel them sooner, and you are due sooner. Which brings me to our appointment yesterday! It went really good, we met the new doctor who would of been delivering me if we weren't moving. My normal due date would of been July 17th and the ulstrasound agreed with that. We heard the heartbeats which took her a while to find and a lot of pushing hard on my stomach...not very comfortable! Kyla loved listening to them, she would say, "whoa" when it got loud and she stood right beside me on the stool while I laid on the bed. She was so cute, with the biggest smile on her face...she loved it. It was great to hear them though, one was 150 and the other 160. I'm guessing one of each. Which we find out next Tuesday!! yay, I finally have an ultrasound date, and I can't wait! I can also start shopping for them!! Which I am so exicted about!! I would love to hear what you all think we are having? So give me your guesses, you only have a week! Some other news that was kind of shocking, was when she brought up my due date. She said that because I was so early with Kyla (I had her at 36 1/2 weeks) that I will probably be even earlier with these twins. She said if I make it to 32 weeks that would be good, 34 weeks even better and she would be very surprised if I made it to 35 weeks. I'm think I will probably be on bedrest from 30 weeks on, so I hold off as long as possible. It's crazy to think how soon I could be having them! I figured it out and 35 weeks is July 12th! Crazy soon!! It's like over a month sooner than my normal due date. I really hope I go as long as possible though, i want good healthy babies! Other than that, I will probably be having tonz of ultrasounds because it's their only way to see how the babies are growing, i'm kind of excited about seeing them that many times. One at 18 weeks, 24 weeks, 28 weeks, 30, 32,34 and so on! It's a lot! But fun too. I haven't gained much weight either. So far in this pregnancy i've gained 10 pounds which I think is ok?? She didn't say much about it. But with how big i've grown in a month, I was hoping I gained something! Cuz I feel huge! Well i'll take a picture hopefully tomorrow, we just have no memory on our camera and i need to take it in tonight. So i'll take one tomorrow and put it on here. But thats the latest on our babies!

She's all grown up

I decided to dedicate this post to my daughter and her ability to constantly amaze us! It started on January 1st, Dustin was in the kitchen cooking supper and I was sick on the couch (as usual.) Dustin and I got Kyla a potty for Christmas to start her interest in it, really not expecting anything to happen right away. Well I was in the bathroom and Kyla said "potty" well I figured why not give it a try. So I stripped her down and sat her on it, well she said "mommy out" over and over and started to push me out of the bathroom. So out I went, I guess she wants her privacy! Well I had to come lay down cuz I was so sick and I asked Dustin to check on her. He went in and she said "daddy out!" and pushed him out. So a couple minutes later Kyla came walking out of the bathroom saying "pee! pee!" Dustin went in and she did! She peed in her potty all by herself! Since then she has gone about 6-7 times, a couple she barely missed cuz she is so persistant on having us out and worries so much about making sure we are out. It's quite funny. Well she is now to the point where tonight she said "potty" and started to take her sleeper off. So I took her in, she said "mommy out," closed the door, and then she went! I am amazed at how easy this child is making it for us! I never expected it this early, but I will sure take it. The trouble during the day is I get so tired that sometimes my patience isn't very high to wait for her and make sure she doesn't pee all over. I think she is getting it though and the rest should be pretty easy...I hope. I think maybe she is such an easy girl so when we have these twins we won't know what hit us! She is also talking like crazy, and can pretty much say anything. The other day she all of the sudden started pernouncing her 's' and 'l' I have no idea how she does it, she just learns so fast and remembers EVERYTHING! She is so entertaining and I love to play with her cuz she is so smart and just so much fun. I can't wait for her to be our big helper when these babies come.

I have my first appointment since finding out we were having twins on Monday, so i'm excited and hopefully our ultrasound the same week. I'll keep you posted!

15 Weeks!

Well now that all of this has settled in I can start enjoying it. I am actually getting really excited! I am getting bigger everyday and it's so weird how fast I am growing, but it's all in my belly(well and boobs I guess!) So that's kind of exciting! I just can't wait to feel them move, which should be anyday now! I have been working out every other day, cuz I don't want to over do it seeing as I never worked out before I was pregnant. But I have a prenatal dvd and its so fun, i rotate the workouts from Salsa dance to Yoga and I always do the relaxation and labour prep. It makes me like working out, cuz I used to hate it. I am getting so excited to be done this pregnancy though. I used to think pregnancy was fun and cute, but not anymore! I'm thinking having 2 in 1 is a blessing so I don't have to get pregnant as many times! I think it's cuz this time i'm growing so quickly and already feel like i'm almost done... but I'm so not! The sickness has been bad, but getting better now thank goodness and I didn't get time to realize I was growing a tummy, it just came out of nowhere and I needed a new wardrobe! Thanks to sisters who lend me clothes that will work till i'm bigger. I realized none of my regular clothes will work as maternity, which is so weird. I bought a few things and I should be good for a couple months. I don't know how mig i'm going to be, it's all a mystery! I haven't even seen my new Doctor yet so I know nothing! I don't see her until Febuary 4th. I don't even have an ultrasound booked. I'm kind of glad I have a new doctor though cuz now I only have one. In High River there are 9! They rotate and you never know who you'll get and who is going to deliver you. I wasn't to fond of that in the first place. So this is nice and plus she's a girl! I'm just going to be patient!

Kyla has been such a good girl through all this. I am kind of negecting her on here but she has been so good. I know she is going to be the best big sister and she'll be such a big helper. She is learning so fast and talks so well now. She even peed in her new potty three times all by herself! She pushes us out of the bathroom and just goes! I am so lucky. I can't wait for these babies to come, it's going to be so amazing. A lot of work but i'm just going to enjoy it all!

What!? Are you sure?

Ok so we just recieved the biggest news ever! We went for our ultrasound yesterday and found out we are going to have twins!! I know, crazy!! I have to keep reminding myself this isn't a dream! It's funny though cuz we have been excited ever since we found out. It was one of the last things we ever expected, and we are still trying to process it! Our families are so excited, no one believed us when we told them and they all freaked out. I cried of course! Well we are planning on moving now cuz we cannot fit 5 of us in this tiny condo with 2 bedrooms. We are going to stay in Okotoks and hopefully in the ward too. So lets pray things work out the way they are supposed to! I'll probably be due in the end of June now since full term for twins is 37 weeks, and i'll be delivering in Calgary forsure. We wanted to deliver in High River because its smaller and they treat you a lot better and family can come. But since i'm now a high risk pregnancy they have to have a pediatrician there and High River doesn't have one. Oh well I think Calgary was pretty good when I had Kyla so we really don't care. Well no wonder i'm getting so big so fast! I think i'm more concerned of where these babies are going to fit in my belly?? We'll see... I'll never be the same!

Baby Francis #2!

Well it's true we are adding another child to our family! After 4 months of pregnancy tests and getting my hopes up, I figured this time i'm not going to think about it and when it is supposed to happen it'll happen. So I took the test early since I had a Dr's appointment the next day anyways and if it was positive I wouldn't have to make another appointment. (My Doctor takes forever to get into) Anyways I had Dustin look at the test and I really didn't think it was positive. He's like, "What is pregnant again?" I said "Two lines" so he smiled and slowly moved the box from on top of it to show me one line... then two! I was so excited because it's not what I thought at all! So we waited until Christmas to tell everyone so that all our family could be there and I could be 3 months already. Dustin wanted to wait this time, but it worked out perfectly. I am now almost 13 weeks and showing already! It was fun when we told cuz I had a tiny belly coming, we had to hide it for a week or so since I was showing already.

It's been fun but it's hard to enjoy it since I've been so sick. I am really hoping that it'll go away soon, i'm so worn out from puking and not being able to eat anything. I haven't gained any weight yet either, which isn't neccesarily a bad thing since you aren't really supposed to gain much in your frist trimester. But i've been puking so much so it's kind of hard to gain anything when you can't keep your food down! Poor Dustin has been so good helping me at home. My house hasn't been clean in about 6 weeks and making dinner is ancient history for me! Definately never eating spagetti or mixed veggies again!

Well we are due July 17th so far but we have an ultrasound on Thurs, the 3rd to confirm our dates so i'll let you know forsure. We aren't going to find out what we are having because I loved the feeling with Kyla when they told us when she was born. It was the most amazing feeling when they said, "It's a Girl!" I can definately wait for that moment again.

I will be way better at this blogging thing now that I realized how fast time goes being 3 months already! Here is a couple pictures of my newest bump!

Gingerbread Time!

Here is our gingerbread house and us making it. I really wasn't putting too much effort into the style but Dustin wanted lots of icing and candy, so we tried. Kyla just wanted to eat the candy! We noticed her mouth very full so we had her spit everything out and she had a huge mouthful of candy. She swiped a handful of gum and candy and was just chewing on it!. It was hilarious. She was sure happy though.

It worked!

Halleluah! I finally am able to post a picture! Thanks to Vinnie, once again! Well I just took a few of Kyla the other day because I couldn't believe how long and cute her hair was. It was really hard to get her to smile, she will just stare at you and then want to see it. I got a couple not too bad ones though.

Ok so here are the Santa pictures. They aren't good pictures at all but they are quite funny, the second we walked away she was happy again. I am dreading going to get her picture done at the mall. We'll see how she does tonight at the Christmas party. Maybe she'll get used to him!

So I have a lot of catching up to do, here is our Christmas tree and setting it up. Dustin wasn't too impressed this year, he wanted to cut down a real tree. We have done that for the last 3 years and this year I really wanted a fake one because it's less maintenance for me! He actually liked it in the end and was impressed how good a $50 fake tree can look. But it's only because I was decorating it! ;)

I also haven't posted any of Halloween so i'm going to make it quick and just put a couple on, Kyla loved it and she loved to carry her bucket around, even when it was over-flowing. We also were able to carve a pumpkin, Kyla was also every interested and wanted to help. She didn't like the insides touching her but she didn't mind using a spoon to get them out. She is such a girl!

Having Issues

So lately I have made about 3 entries but it won'y let me upload any pictures, so I have just saved them and hopefully one day it'll let me! I'm kind of getting frustrated. Not too much has happened lately, Kyla has been having tatrums and we aren't too sure where they are coming from! I am hoping she is teething and she'll get over it soon and it's not a new trend she has started! We went to Dustin's work Christmas party yesterday and Santa was there for the kids, when it was kyla's turn she freaked and wouldn't let go of Dustin it was quite hilarious. She clinged to him so tight she was devistated as if we were torturing her! Poor girl! I got some funny pictures though, i will try and post those eventually!
