Easter and more!

This Easter weekend was a lot more eventful than planned. We were going to just have a simple Easter at our house and then have a dinner at Jill's house on Sunday. Well last Tuesday Dustin's Grandpa Francis past away so we made the trip down to Taber on Thursday for the funeral on Saturday. He was such a happy person and i'm sad I didn't get to know him better but he was getting old and having heart problems and he went peacefully. The funeral was so nice and I think he would of loved it. Kind of a bitter sweet reunion with a ton of family on Dustin's side. I am kind of retarded and of course didn't take any pictures. But it was great to see everyone.

So our family has had the stupid cold going around for the past 2 weeks back and forth and the twins just wouldn't get over it, so on Friday Jayci woke up with a fever and just seemed really sick. I decided to take her to the hospital in the afternoon because she was really lethargic laying on me and so sick. Well she had a really high fever and so the first thing the Doctor did was had us get her fever down and then he checked her out and she had two ear infections. Poor thing. That whole day we had a hard time keeping her fever down and that night she had a fever of 39.7C or 103.6F (for you amercians.) Anyways she was so sick so we put her in the tub to get it down and she slept in bed with us that night because I was worried about her fever. The doctor said anything from 39.5 and 40C can cause febrile seizures, so of course I was really worried. But luckily she got better and has been on antibiotics since Friday. Now we are all pretty much back to normal. Thank goodness.
So anyways Saturday was the funeral and Sunday we had Easter at Dustin's parents. This weekend Kristy and Brandon also came up to Canada to my parents and we weren't planning on going there with all Dustin's family being up and we wanted to keep it more af a family weekend for him. But we decided to head over there on Sunday afternoon for the night and then head home Monday morning. I didn't want to lose the chance to see Kristy while I could. We saw eachother at Britt's wedding in December and then we won't see eachother until Summer, so I couldn't not go. So we went and stayed the night at mom and dad's. They left late Sunday night and drove through the night to go home. All the family was there though celebrating Lindsay and Brandon's birthdays and Easter all in one. I was glad we got to go, we had a lot of fun and I finally got to go see Jeff and Britt's house and the lot they are building their new house on. Kyla also got to roll easter eggs down the hill and she loved it. The babies hated it with being so windy and both of them being sick so that didn't last too long. Well that was pretty much our weekend, lots going on that forsure! But it was lots of fun and kind of nice being able to see everyone when we weren't expecting to see anyone until summer. Oh and Presley finally cut her first tooth in too!! Halleluah! Kyla was 10 months old when she got her first tooth so i'm really not surprised, so that could also add to the sick factor. Jayci usually does everything first but Presley beat her too it this time. They are also starting to grow hair!!! This is HUGE!! Dustin loves them bald, aha I do to of course but I can't wait to do their hair! Thank goodness for cute headbands, I love them.

By the way they are 18lbs, Jayci got weighed at the hospital and they have been about the same for a while now so i'm assuming Presley is the same if not a little lighter, that's the 17th percentile so they are doing great! They are about the same in developement as Gavin though, so it's fun. Oh and I think I am hating my bangs, time for a change....again.

So now we are just getting ready for Brittany and Jeff to come on Thursday, i'm so excited! I only had Kristy and Brandon stay at our house once for 2 days a long time ago. So i'm really excited to have a sister come and visit! They are staying until Tuesday too! The boys are going hunting Friday and Saturday, yay (can you tell my enthusiasm) they each want a bear and a wolf.....umm ya. I'm excited to have some good sister time though! We are going to get Kyla's ears pierced! shh don't tell Dustin! ahaha No I have been wanting to get them done for the past year but we just haven't and everytime I get the chance Dustin says, we'll do it next time. He says she is cute without it and doesn't need it. ha too bad! I also said I won't pierce their ears until they ask, well she saw my earrings and wanted some too....doesn't that count?? I think so! Well I should stop writing because some days I feel like I could go on forever....but I won't (maybe next time)

Kyla

I officially have a 3 year old! How crazy is that. Her birthday was on Saturday and I know i'm a little late posting this but things have been crazy around here. I had my parents and sister Stephanie here for it. She wanted a pink princess birthday so she got one! She loved every minute of it. We had pink koolaid, pink decorations, pink cake and everyone had to wear pink. She actually wore a white dress I bought her a while ago and shopping is very minimal up here so she wore that and looked pretty dang cute in it I must say! We had tons of fun! Here are some things on why we love Kyla.
She is such a smart little girl and remembers everything, I mean EVERYTHING. She can sing the alphabet, spell her name, draw really good pictures of people (especially our family) spiders, suns, cars, bugs, and more. I asked her to draw our family and this is what she did, you have to click on it to read who they are. These are all in her words.She knows all her colors, shapes and opposites (She's known most of these things for the past 6 months or more) She is a true girl, loves to wear dresses, get her hair done, paint her nails, princess everything and of course pink everything. Majority of her shirts are pink I noticed the other day, oh well i'm not complaining I love pink too! She loves nursery and knows who Joseph Smith was (the first prophet) and he got baptized and built a temple. She "needs" everything. She says, "Mom I NEED that, I need it!" I wish I could remember all the funny things she says because she is hilarious and definately keeps me on my toes! She recently, I mean just the past couple days, started asking me in depth questions about things and WHY. Everything is "Why?" and then i'll answer simply and she asks "but why?" so until I give her a fully explain in detail answer she keeps asking. I'm like what the?? where did this come from? Oh funny story. The other day we were eating dinner at the table with my parents here and I asked her to do something I can't remember exactly but she yelled at me, so I said "Kyla don't yell at mommy, it's not nice." So she yelled it again and I said "that makes mommy sad, do you like making me sad?" She says, "no" So I told her "you need to say sorry to me for yelling" she says "No mom you say sorry to me!" umm, excuse me! So as I try not to laugh I said "no Kyla you yelled at mommy and you need to say sorry." (so while this is going on she is staring right at me quite intensly I must say! and not looking away, so i'm trying not to laugh) meanwhile my family is at the table covering and hiding their faces because they are laughing so hard. Anyways I said, " I didn't yell at you, you yelled at me so you say sorry." Once again she said "NO You say sorry to me!" This kid was NOT giving in! This went on back and forth for a couple minutes. I was not going to give in either! So my mom whispers to me, "just say sorry to her and see what she does." So I did, I said, "sorry Kyla" and she goes "sorry mom" (quietly) What a BUTT! Seriously! It was quite entertaining for my family. I lately have been sticking to things and my decisions so she knows what she can't get away with but man this was SO out of nowhere and I didn't know what to do, she caught me off gaurd! Anyways, she also hates it when I get upset, she says, "Mommy don't be mad!" and of course this is when i'm about to explode and so frustrated, she says this over and over until I smile and tell her that i'm not mad. This girl is full of personality and such a sweetheart. She is also definately a leader. She loves to boss her little sisters around but mostly just loves to just play with them. She spilled something on the carpet the other day when I told her not to come into the livingroom with it and she did of course, so I didn't get mad but I said "Kyla mommy said not to come in here and now I have to clean it up" she goes, "it's ok, it's ok mom, i'm still your best friend." So cute. She always tells me i'm her best friend and I LOVE that. Well here are some pictures of her birthday! We got her a leapfrog "my first computer" It's awesome. I recommend it!

So Jayci and Presley are 10 months old!! Well they were 10 months on Friday the 27th but I didn't have time to sit down and update. I can't believe it has been 10 months since they came into my life, 10 months since I gave birth to two tiny beautiful little girls. I don't want to get to into the memories, i'll save that for their 1st birthday post. Which is in 2 months!!! (If you didn't already figure that out!) So they are constantly changing. I'll keep this as short as I can, because first I have way too much house cleaning to do. My parents are coming this weekend so I decided we might as well do our spring cleaning/de-junking/going through the girls clothes all at the same time! And second it's better for you! Well they are both crawling on all fours, but they are doing exactly wht Kyla did. They love the army crawl and hey I guess it works! But they do know how to actually crawl so that's exciting. This weekend they started showing major interest in the stairs and within two days they learned to pull themselves up to standing onto the bottom stair and yesterday Jayci went up two! She also pulled herself up to standing to the couch. I love it!! Presley can walk along the bottom stair while standing on it, and i'm pretty sure Jayci can too, I just haven't seen it fully. I guess we better get a gate! They are both still nursing but I am going to start weaning them off onto homo milk. Now that they both eat pretty much everything and are getting all their nutrients, they say you can start at 10 months. I think i'm pretty much ready to be done as well. I said my cut off was 1 year, after that I think it's a little weird. No offense to anyone but thats just me. I am so grateful I was able to nurse them for this long, I never thought I would be able to. I just stuck to it no matter what! I did go through a tough time just before Christmas, I got mastitis....not fun. I thought I had the flu really bad until I noticed a huge lump and it hurt! (I know this is probably TMI, just deal with it) ;) anyways I was very sick for like 3 days, dead on the couch, and wanted to die! But I still nursed, of course I was wondering why after nursing for 8 months I got it all of the sudden because most people get it when they first start. Well I got some blisters and cracks and even some bleeding for like a week and a half before and then I got mastitis which is a bacteria infection that resulted from that. I figured out I was getting those from laying in bed feeding them and I would fall asleep and they would still be half latched for like hours at a time! Ya so it's my fault. BUT in my defense I was exhausted from my thyroid because I wasn't on medication then so I didn't even have the energy to sit up and feed them, ya I didn't care at that point. Anyways I toughed it out and got through it because I knew it would heal and well I did not want to quit nursing. So for those of you that think it's not possible, well I did it....with twins! Not that i'm judging i'm just proud of myself for enduring it and it was worth it!
So for those of you that helped me out with my nursing to sleep problem....thank you! (if you want to read it go here) I can't believe how much help and feedback i had, it was so awesome and I would go back all the time and read what you guys all said because it would keep giving me that determination. So here is the result. Presley was so easy, she would fuss a bit and then give in and go out so she is fixed, I guess that's one way to put it, she's fixed! Jayci on the other hand is still broken, she would scream and scream forever. Presley must like her crying because it never keeps her up, instead it puts her to sleep! Weird girls. anyways so I still haven't got her down and my next step is to do it in intervals, start with 5 minutes, then 10, then 15 and then I hope she gets it. I'm trying it this week and if that doesn't work, well then we are weaning them onto milk anyways and she'll have no choice! So wish me luck! Oh and their weights and stuff I don't know, I weighed them about a month ago and they were both around 17lbs so like the 15-20th percentile I think and I don't know their heights either. Bad mom! normally I would be on top of this!
Well this post is getting long and taking way too much time, so here are some pictures of course of the girls at 10 months old. Oh and my next post is going to be dedicated to Kyla, since she turns 3 on Saturday! (and I kind of feel like she is being neglected here) Crazy that i'll have a 3 year old! Oh and i'm attempting a fondant cake for it, first time so wish me more luck on that.

You tell me!!

Ok so I went to a girls makeover day at my friend Mackenzie's house last weekend and I got to do most of the girls hair which was fun. So she also took some pictures of us. I asked her to do some fun ones of me for my business website so there could be a recent picture of me so people can see who I am and mostly to show my personality. They were so much fun to take and we were laughing so hard and they turned out great! SO I need your help because I can't decide, it's just too weird to pick the best picture of yourself. Here are two of them (the second one isn't on her site but still an option!), but go here to look at them (you may have to scroll down a little) and the please tell me which one is your favorite and maybe why it is. I don't care if I don't even know you, the more input the better, I am easily pursuaded. But it has to still be cute of course!!

I wonder

This is what I wonder...
I wonder if I am good enough to raise these 3 girls. Am I good enough to make the right decisions so they grow up right. Will they be kind, will they be caring, will they put others first. I wonder if they will be able to expand in their talents and be smart in school. If they will have close friends when they need them, or if they will be best friends with their mom or seek guidance from their dad. I wonder if they will live every day to the fullest and always be happy. I wonder if they will make all the right decisions and take the proper course. I wonder if they will follow their dreams. I wonder if they will be best friends and go to eachother when they need help. I wonder if they will know how to help others in need. I wonder if they will be strong in the church and marry in the temple one day. I wonder if I will help them be the best they can be so they can be the best wife and mom some day. I wonder how am I going to teach these girls to be the best they can be so they can have the best future. I wonder how someone trusts me to make the right decisions for them. I wonder if I will mess up. I know there will be mistakes and tough times, but the Lord knew what he was doing when he blessed me with these little girls and I will try my hardest to raise them right. I love them more than life itself and I can't wait to see what great things they do in their future because I know they will all grow up to be amazing women. I know that if I do my best and always be there for them they will know they are loved and always feel safe.

I love these girls and I will work my hardest to give them the best life they can have and I know with an amazing husband by my side we can do anything.

Lately

I caught Jayci and Presley doing some cute things this week, so here are some pictures!
I thought this was cute, they were both eating a mum mum cookie and watchin tv.
I luckily caught Jayci doing this, she pulled herself right up onto the stool to stand, and she has been doing it lots now that she figured it out. So awesome seeing them do new things! I love it! Every little thing means so much to me.And this was today. Jayci lately will crawl over to Presley and just sit on her! She is either a bully or just wants to be close to her sister. Either way it's so cute and I got some cute pictures!

Oh and I do dress them in clothes other than onsies, but just not when I seem to take pictures! I was going to get them cute and dressed up for church and take some pictures but Dustin and I both got really sick this weekend so it was a stay home day. Maybe tomorrow!

Great Find

Do you ever think your child is bored? I sure do! So I found this awesome site! It e-mails you weekly on the latest stuff of what to do with kids. Including crafts, baking, games, coloring pages and they even have a section on parenting. I love it! It's called Kaboose. I just printed off an Easter coloring sheet for Kyla and she loves it! The other day we did a new craft together, she made a crown. Thanks Mr. Maker. She loved it! She also wore it around all day. I know it's like the tallest crown ever and I laugh at it everytime she wears it! But it's more for her to decorate!
So not too much is happening in our house. Jayci is now officially crawling! She did it yesterday, she just up and went on her hands and knees like she knew all along. Presley is all over the army crawl now and they just get around like it's nothing, and I love it! I am so excited they can go everywhere to discover their whole new worlds, like the kitchen and bathroom! The other day I was cooking supper and I had 3 little people at my feet grabbing me. It was so cute. I love that they get into stuff and find new things. Jayci will sit infront of my tupperware drawer and open and close it. She wants in their so bad. Dustin also caught Presley trying to pull herself up the bottom stair! Looks like I need to invest in a gate soon. It's so exciting! Here is Jayci just chillin infront of the drawer and them scootin around in the kitchen!Well I think that's just about it for now. I need to take more pictures this weekend of all of us in our daily life, because these kids are growing too fast. I love it though!!

Help and The Burnt Daisy update

So I would never normally admit to making a mistake about being a mom, cuz I never make them! aha.... BUT i'm not too sure what to do and before I go crazy this week from "thinking" I am going to ask you all for help. First of all it has been one busy thinking week. Seriously I have never thought so much! Is that how you say it? Well this is why, I have been working on my relief society lesson which has kind of been a challenging one because I don't know how to go about teaching it. It's on 'Valiant in the cause of Christ' It's a simple lesson so I might just keep it that way. Anyways, also I have been getting the last touches on my business and ordering some more supplies. I have made some big changes in it so that is why it is taking so long. Sorry. If you didn't get to see my sneak peek post go here. I will tell you what I am going to do though. (I know i'm supposed to be asking for your help but i'll get to that after this, cuz I got sidetracked so just go with it.) Probably tomorrow I will show you my site (I just want to get one more picture on it) and because I am waiting on some supplies and can't really make anything yet, I am going to take some pre-orders, as in 8-10 at the most. Obviously the wait for these will be a while probably like 3-4 weeks since I have to wait for all my last minute stuff to arive and who knows how long it'll take with the shipping. But I can get all the paper and letters ordered in the mean time. I want to get started somewhere. So here's the deal, if you want a name/initial done, let me know AFTER I open the site. So then you can see my samples and get an idea of what I am doing and all the details, so I don't have to go through it all on here. But ya so if you want one done watch for it to be opened within the next day. After I get 10 orders max I won't be taking anymore until all my stuff comes in. So that's my business update. I am hating how long it's taken but I am SO excited to get going!
So.....back to the help. I made a mistake, a big one in my eyes and now I need help to fix it. It's about Jayci and Presley. Since they were born I have been nursing them and I still am. (yay so proud) Probably about 3-4 times a day. BUT my problem is I nurse them right to sleep for bedtime!....I know, I know, SO bad! It just happened! And it was just so much easier! But now during the day for their naps I can wrap them up and place them in bed together and they go to sleep on their own. But it's nightime that is the problem. They have been going to bed at about 7:30 lately, so I nurse them right to sleep (which usually takes 5 minutes) and put them in bed. Then I do the other one. So most of the time they wake up once before we go to bed but the only way to get them back to sleep is to nurse them again. So how do I get them out of the habit of being nursed to sleep? Kelsey (thank you so much) helped me with a book she bought online and I think it would work, but with twins it's harder. It pretty much tells you to sit by the crib for a couple days and then every 3 days move further away. But with two, they say to just move your chair back and forth from each crib every 5 minutes, and ya I didn't like that. It was just a hard concept for twins. So I looked online for books or something for twins and sleeping and the only one I found which I think would be awesome, doesn't come out until JUNE! ha great! So I know most of you don't have twins, but how do I get them off nursing to sleep and then going back to sleep on their own. I have tried letting them cry, but first of all I hate it, and second they cry forever (last night was at least 1/2hr) and I feel so mean. I know there is other ways. Oh also when we go to bed they rarely wake up, they usually sleep right until about 7ish, but when they do wake up I have to once again feed them. I am getting so tired lately, not sure why, but like exhausted! I guess they have been waking up at about 11pm which is right after we try and go to bed and then we are up until after midnight and Kyla is up before 7am. Also the other night she woke up wanting to sleep in our bed, so random. But ya she was freaking out and would only let me tuck her in. I do have awesome help, Dustin will do just as much as I do, he is up everytime they are up. He goes and gets the babies when they wake up, I feed them and put them back to bed. He is the best help. I know your thinking it's because we have twins, but nope he did the same thing with Kyla. Don't I have the best husband! I have talked to so many moms where the husband doesn't do anything at night and I am so grateful mine does. Of course if he is up earlier or really tired I do it so he can sleep. Also he changes just as many diapers as I do (without asking!) and gets them dressed, and feeds them. He NEVER complains. He was the exact same way with Kyla too. I definately got a winner! I love him. Anyways this is getting long and i'm rambling now. So any help please, and if you want a name done, let me know! I'm excited! (sorry no pictures) next time!

A drastic change

When it comes to my health I have never really cared about it. I am small, even underweight but I don't eat well or exercise. Some people think of me as lucky and I am for not having to work for it, but I know this won't last forever. Lately as some of you know I found out I have hyperthyroidism from being pregnant with the twins. I just got back from Edmonton where I saw a specialist about it to see what needs to be done. I took some more tests since it's been about 6 months since the last ones and found out my levels are back to normal! I am so happy! I did not want to be on pills for the rest of my life, I am too young for that. They say when it's caused after pregnancy it can go up then down then level off back to normal so I was hoping it would! But, while I was in Edmonton the specialist found a nodule on my thyroid and I didn't think anything of it. They want to get an ultrasound done on it to see what it is. I came home from the doctors on Wednesday and looked up nodules on the thyroid and what they mean. Some are nothing but need to be checked every 6-12 months to make sure they don't grow. Some need to be drained or removed. And some are cancerous. I was like what? Cancer? So I researched a little more to find out HOW common it is that they are cancerous before I start freaking out. I found out that only 5 in every 100 thyroid nodules are cancerous. I felt a lot better about that. It's still kind of a scary thought though. I am one of those people who doesn't worry unless I have to. For example (all which are in this past year), when I went into premature labour with the twins at 25 weeks and when Presley had menigitis at 10 weeks old, or my mom had some "scares" in her health recently, or even when it came to our finances. I never worried unless I needed too. Wow now that I said all that, i've been through a lot. Maybe that's what makes me so strong in the tough times. Anyways I called to get in for an ultrasound and the soonest they are booking is JULY! So they said if my doctor puts on the request that it's urgent I could get in sooner, so I am trying to get ahold of him to do that. Well back to my drastic change. My new years resolution was to become "physically fit" and take more time for myself. I guess having hyperthyroidism made me feel like crap so I want to change that so I feel better, even if I don't have it anymore. I want to get into some sort of classes, not school classes but just fun, maybe dance or something like that. I also want to workout everyday. Now that the babies are on a pretty good nap schedule, that gives me at least an hour twice a day free. So the morning ones I want to exercise. I just bought a huge program that i'm going to try and it's suppose to get you to lose 10 lbs in 10 days, not that I need to lose the weight but since i'm already at my size can you imagine what it'll do in just 10 days for me! I also want to challenge myself to the one thing I hate the most....running. I hate to run. But I want to learn to love it, and I think I would. It's probably so refreshing and I SO need that from being couped up in the house all winter! Well as soon as it warms up enough to go running outside I am going. I might have to invest in some runners! I will keep you updated with how I am doing. I also was doing a lot of reading on health and stuff and how they now look at your health acording to your BMI (body mass index) so here is a chart for you to see how you are doing. Today Presley started pulling herself around and they both wanted the same toy so we grabbed the camera and got it in action. Poor Presley is a little behind but for just starting today she is doing pretty good! It's really dark so sorry. Then we tried again with better light but it's more of them just rolling around playing they didn't want to race anymore. Just some twins in action I guess! I am loving this video thing!
